The Global Journal of Sport and Exercise Science (GJSES) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct in scholarly publishing. The journal follows internationally recognized guidelines to ensure integrity, transparency, and quality in academic publishing.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to GJSES must ensure that:

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must submit original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere. All sources must be properly cited.

Multiple or Redundant Publication

Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

Authorship of the Manuscript

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others and cite relevant literature.

Data Accuracy

Authors must present accurate data and results. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of research data is strictly prohibited.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research results or interpretation.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of the journal.

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely reviews

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the manuscripts they review

  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited

  • Inform the editor of any potential conflicts of interest

  • Avoid using unpublished information from manuscripts for personal advantage

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the academic record.

Editors must:

  • Make publication decisions based solely on the scientific merit of the manuscript

  • Ensure a fair and unbiased peer review process

  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts

  • Avoid conflicts of interest

  • Take appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct

Ethical Standards in Research

Research involving human participants or animals must follow recognized ethical standards.

Authors must confirm that:

  • Research involving human participants received appropriate ethical approval

  • Participants provided informed consent where applicable

  • Animal research followed accepted ethical guidelines

Where required, authors should provide documentation of ethical approval from an institutional review board or ethics committee.

Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct

GJSES has zero tolerance for plagiarism and academic misconduct.

All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software.

The following practices are considered unethical:

  • Duplicate publication

  • Improper authorship attribution

Manuscripts found to contain such misconduct will be rejected.

Corrections and Retractions

If significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, the journal may publish:
